| Students In Christ's Youth Center (SICYC) , Inc, founded in 2000 is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit faith-based organization, promoting sustainable youth development programs that offer improved life application skills for all youth by working in partnership with parents, schools, social service agencies and churches. Though we frequently experience opposition to our name, we have done much with very little. Our goal is to promote youth centers that will demonstrate basic care creating a homelike atmosphere where the child’s social, mental, physical and spiritual needs are addressed , met and goals achieved. Our position within the faith-based and secular community is an integral part of achieving this mission |

SICYC, Inc was a Divine given vision to Rosalind Harris in 1997. After talking with other original co-founders Russell Freeman, Sandra Bedford, Eunice Boatwright, Harriett Taylor and Gloria Knighten regarding the vision, SICYC, Inc became a reality in August 2000 and open their doors in September 2000. Using the concept of a faith-based youth center providing social and recreation services to children ages 5-18 at her church, Resurrection Baptist, she stepped out on faith, resigned her position at the US Attorney's Office, Western District and together with co-harts began the mission of meeting the felt needs of children. Since its inception Harriett Taylor and Gloria Knighten are no longer Board members. They are currently pursuing their own visions. We have added Jose' Venecia Jr and an Advisory Board of Community Volunteers. |
